I took this picture of my lovely friend, taylor, over the summer. i cropped the image, converted it to black and white, added a color overlay set on vivid light, and then adjusted the levels.

3rd Assignment- Circles

For my third photography assignment i chose circles. I had issues with this subject and i wasn't too crazy about any of my shots but these are the three i chose to edit. i did pretty simple maneuvers..most likely some combination of cropping, shadow/highlight adjustments, curve/levels adjustments, hue/saturation adjustments, and sharpening.

2nd Assignment- Architecture

I took this picture in Chicago the other weekend, for our architecture assignment. I cropped slightly and rotated it a bit to make the shot straight (although it's still not perfect, it's the best i could do), put it in black and white and then ran a curves adjustment, which i set on cross process. i did a slight hues adjustment to tone the green down a bit, and then just a little adjusting to shadows/highlights, and a little bit of sharpening.

This is a shot I took in an alley, also in Chicago. I cropped the image, ran a curves adjustment on cross process, ran a slight gamma correction, and sharpened the image.

This is a picture of a building in Chicago. I cropped and converted the image to black and white, did a curves and levels adjustment to boost the contrast, sharpened the image and added noise.

1st Assignment- Empty Chairs

This photograph, as well as the previous two posts, were taken for my first outside-of-class assignment. it's been a long couple of weeks since i edited these so i can't remember what i did specifically to each. probably some combination of a curves adjustment, shadow/highlight adjustment, hue/saturation adjustment, cropping and sharpening filter. or something like that.

This is my little brudder Matt. I realize that all the pictures I've posted thus far are of children..I promise I'm not a creeper, it just happened that way. Anyway, I cropped this photo, made a hues and saturation adjustment, a curves adjustment, and ran the smart sharpen filter. I made the unfortunate mistake of using my camera's flash and so there is a harsh cast shadow behind his head and his face is somewhat blownout. But I love him so I'm putting it on here anyway.

Angel Dust

This is a picture I took two Christmases ago of my little cousin Kadi. It's different but I like it in a way. I cropped the photo slightly to make it 5x7, converted it to black and white and added a color overlay. I'm putting this on here mostly just for fun to see what it looks like but feel free to let me know what you think.

Push-Up Pop

I took this picture of Zelwak's nephew during cross country camp. I love this shot because I didn't tell him to pose at all and so I was pleased that the picture captured the natural innocence children seem to have. I cropped this image so that he filled the composition more and so that there were fewer distracting elements in the background. I also did a curves adjustment, a hues and saturation adjustment, and ran the smart sharpen filter.
